Cheerios and Lattes

You'd never believe the very intelligent, intriguing, and hilarious discussions I get into in the mornings over breakfast with Madie and now occasionally Hannah.  Madie's mind goes in ever direction imaginable and it is always an exciting question mark as to what our discussion over cheerios and coffee will be.

Our church just did a "Baby Bottle Drive" for the local women's pregnancy center to raise money to support this wonderful organization, and our AWANA kids were doing a competition to see who could raise the most money between the boys and girls.  Well, that morning at breakfast I began explaining to Madie in kid friendly terms what this money would be used for and why it was so important.  I brought up some of our recent discussions of adopting a boy or girl without a mommy or daddy and explained to her how these kinds of things all go together in following God's commands about taking care of the widows and orphans, valuing human life, and showing others the love of Christ by looking like Christ to them.  She often chases a rabbit after we have these kinds of discussions that leads me to the conclusion  I lost her...however, that was not the case this particular morning.  She thought for a minute and then informed me that she was going to begin praying that God would give her two "brown" brothers and two "plain" brothers...I snickered a bit and then proceeded to ask her what she meant by "plain" brothers and she replied, "you know plain, like me, and I'd like to name my two brown brothers Trevor and Tyson like my friend Evie's brothers."  So holding back my chuckles, I said, so you want four older brothers huh? She responded with an emphatic "Yes!"

It never ceases to amaze me the things she works out in her mind, and as we are praying through the possible option of adoption, my child has once again opened my mind and heart to things I had never considered, like "OLDER" children.  I have no idea what our family will look like in a couple of years,   the realm of the unknown overwhelms me at times, however, I pray that our family will be a team of warriors for the cause of Christ and will be a visual testimony to His grace on my life!

Here's to looking at the possibilities of our future through my four year old's eyes...Like I said, Cheerios and Lattes are always interesting around the Williams' household.  To God be the Glory!

I believe this!

What will this family look like in years to come???
