I posted a blog just a couple of weeks ago documenting some of the ways my family has benefited from using the Young Living Essential Oils; since then so many of you have had such great questions as to oil remedies for all sorts of things and what types of oils are useful for certain ailments. I have been researching a lot of things since talking with some of you and am looking forward to giving some of them a try and reporting my findings.
I can honestly say that these oils have me so excited that if you've had a conversation with me in the last two weeks, I have more than likely mentioned them at least once. I can't say enough good things about them...and so I won't...I'll share some more of our experiences on here and let them do the talking :).
So I sang the praises of Thieves more times than I can count, and have several more experiences I can tell you about using this FABULOUS oil; but in this update I'm going to share about some others.
Oils and there attempted uses:
Peppermint- Stephen had a headache this past weekend he could not seem to shake and had already taken medicine for earlier in the day with no relief. I applied peppermint to his temples (and massaged it in), his forehead, and the back of his neck. Within a few minutes he started experiencing some relief. His headache did not completely go away this time but for the first time all day he felt a lot better.
Lavender, Purification, RC, and Thieves- Leah (ll months old) seemed to be catching a cold and possibly ear infection from the changing of temps from warm during the day and cold at night, so I applied a mixture of Lavender and Purification mixed in coconut oil to her chest and back and then layered RC on top of that (chest and back), diffused RC in her room and applied Thieves to her feet and within a few days of snot, and horrible coughing she was clear and no meds or doctors necessary! MUCH SUCCESS THERE!
DiGize- The National Peanut Festival has been going on this week and anyone local knows the beauty of that is delicious food; and for Hannah that means all the boiled peanuts you can eat (which for mommy means a little girl with a tummy ache). That night after she consumed who knows how many boiled peanuts, corn dog, popcorn, candy from earlier in the day her tummy was a bit upset (imagine that). After we got home I applied DiGize to her tummy and within minutes she was feeling better and minutes later fast asleep with no other issues. Praise the Lord for a good night's sleep!
Melaleuca, Melrose, Frankincense, and Lavender- This is the remedy I make up for Hannah's eczema. It works beautifully if her eczema is from external causes like the changing of the seasons, mold, grass, dust, basically anything airborne...10 drops of each oil in a mixture of coconut oil and shae butter and the very first time we applied this it began clearing her up within two hours and only one application. Side note: Hannah's eczema also stems from food allergies and for that we are trying the exclusions of certain foods to help with her eczema as well.
Joy- I have to be honest in saying this oil I have not tried until recently because of my skepticism of what it could possibly do...and let me give you the circumstances as to why I finally opened it and decided to try it...Fighting sisters!!! This week I have been at my wits end refereeing little selfish sinners and their bickering so I pulled it out thinking..."It sure can't hurt, so what the heck..." I am not exaggerating when I say we had the first peaceful day ALL WEEK...do I believe it was the oil...hmmm...I'm going to try it again and I'll let you know :).
Stress Away- I applied this to my wrists and back of neck this week during homeschool because of the struggle Madie and I have been having while teaching her a particular new math skill. I mainly was hoping for some clarity of mind as not to get frustrated with the circumstance and may I just say, I REALLY LIKE THIS OIL! Try it before you knock it is all I'm saying :).
Panaway and Valor- I have a bulging disc in my neck and a 22 lb child I tote around on my hip. It occurred to me today to give these two a try to help with the pain from that. The pain was completely eliminated for a while, it started coming back and I had to reapply, but once again experienced relief.
These are just a few of the ways I've tried these oils since my last post and I am excited to try some more. I am also excited for those of you who are jumping in to try them as well. I can't wait to hear of your success stories!
