It's been a hectic couple of weeks and I am way behind on posting...so I'll do a short recap of the last week and a half.
Madie, Hannah, and I left last week to go visit some of my family that was in town from NY. Hopping in the car to go visit relatives is not nearly as easy as it used to be...and doing it alone is even trickier. I had to be very strategic about what time to leave so that we wouldn't have to stop along the way (2 1/2 hr drive). Both ways were very successful thanks to much grace from the Lord. We visited from Monday night to Wednesday afternoon. I always enjoy getting to see this side of my family and this time was no different. They met Hannah for the first time and as usual Madie entertained. When we got back Stephen's family from TN was in town. We don't see much of them either so our hearts were full with much family time. I came to the realization this past week that if you don't force yourself to make time for family, you'll never get around to it, your schedule will never be clear enough, your children will never be at just the right age to travel with, your home will never be organized enough...time will pass you by and those relationships will be lost. I am thankful for family and the blessings that come from having one.
Friday night I got very ambitious and decided to try my hand at homemade cinnamon rolls (been trying to get around to this for quite a while) to feed the whole family (meaning 12 of us) with Saturday morning...I was a bit nervous about how they would turn out...but no worries, they were FABULOUS!!! I will certainly be doing that again in the very near future.
Words do not express how accomplished I felt!!!
Oh yes...they were as good as they look!!!
Sorry...just one more pic! I really was proud :)
