We went to the beach with some friends and had a great time. Madie and I got to spend some much needed mommy-daughter time together the first 2 days before the younger troops arrived. I caught myself getting overwhelmed a few times at how quickly she is growing up. I love her full-of-life personality and the innocence she has pertaining to the things around her. She is such a loving little girl with much ambition to explore all sorts of things.
We were there for two days and then I had to head back to Dothan for children's choir (practice for an upcoming presentation) however Madie came down with the wretched fever virus so she rode home with me and was in misery the rest of the day with 103 fever. She was so pitiful but so badly wanted to go back to the beach to swim. She valiantly overcame the fever the next day and was almost back to normal so I headed back down to Ft. Walton with Madie (3), Hannah (15 months), and Scarlette (15 months). Needless to say I was a nervous wreck driving two and a half hours by myself with these three! The Lord shed much grace and gave us a perfectly smooth trip and two out of the three slept most of the way.
After a few days the rest of the gang arrived and we soaked up the sun, swam, ate, cooked, played at the park, lost teeth (Savannah, Madie's friend lost her very first tooth), played cards, etc. We had beautiful weather the whole time we were there and had a great time.
Pictures always tell the story best...

This is what she thinks God made the beach for...
Building a sandcastle sure is a bit more challenging when we don't have our daddies here to help.
She'd play in the sand all day if I'd let her!
This picture makes me laugh...they are standing exactly the same way!
