Kindergarden for my Baby Girl

Ok, so life has been a bit hectic here recently as we are juggling a few balls.  However, I absolutely HAD to post on Madie's latest endeavors.

Madie started KINDERGARDEN Monday August 12th.  Yes you read that right...my baby girl started Kindergarden!  I have blubbered and cried ridiculously over this as I have watched her come into her role of a school aged child.  She has jumped right in there and given it her best the last three weeks.  She is doing remarkably well,  and I so enjoy that portion of our day.

We normally get started around 8:30 or 9 and it usually takes us an hour and a half to do.  I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but trust me; she is nose down, head focused the entire time.  We will begin adding a few things over the next several weeks, but thus far, she is doing amazing.

She was super excited to start Kindergarden, but nothing got her more excited than the fact that she was moving up to SPARKS this year in AWANA at our church.  This has been a long awaited and much anticipated step of "Big GIRLISM"  to her.  She is "SOMEBODY" now that she is a Spark.

I have been serving in sparks for almost four years now, and I felt so blessed to get to watch and be a part of her first night as a "Sparkie."  I have never seen her so out of her element and shy before.  She was so nervous!  It was so special to watch my little girl embark on her journey of growing up.  I am so excited to see how she continues to adapt and grow as the year progresses, and I am anxiously awaiting how God is going to use this year to continue molding and shaping her.

This year is the beginning mark of her school journey and I so look forward to what God has in store for her.  My prayer is that she will surrender her life to the Lord at the earliest possible age, and then begin to see school as God's preparation for what He has in store for her.  I pray that she will be diligent to work hard as unto the Lord and not unto men!  I pray that as her teacher, I will be a vessel God uses to ignite a desire in her to serve Him with her life and that I will be diligent to point her towards Christ daily.

Can't believe she's old enough for this!!!

Working hard on her weather graph

Practicing her verse for the week

Sight Word Practice

Bible Work

Math

Bible verse and character word for the first week

Learning days of the week and months of the year

A couple other firsts...first time down the water slides at the water park the very last day we went for the summer...finally enough courage when Daddy came!

There's her head! I still can't believe she did it and then did again and again and again!

One more picture of her...you can see Stephen's head on the slide next to her.

Another first! First night of SPARKS! She's waited all summer for this!

Look at my big girl!!!
