I'm a week late posting on this topic, but I didn't want to let that stop me from posting this. This past week was the 42nd anniversary for Roe vs. Wade, a decision that changed the numbers of our country, the way people viewed the value of life, and the face of our country as a whole. The Roe vs. Wade decision defined life according to the ability of the baby to live outside of its mother's womb and then in turn give the woman carrying the child the right to end the life of the child if she chose to. That decision marked a very dark turn for our country. Forty two years ago, the Creator of life's authority was challenged by mankind by giving man the authority to the end the life He gave breath to.
Forty two years ago we lost our footing and forgot where our place is in the process of life; we are the created and not the Creator and the choices we make leading to the conception of life do not give us the right to end life. Since the legalization of ending babies' lives we have tried to lessen or eliminate the consequences for the choices we make in so many areas of life; the slippery slope we stepped out on has just gotten wetter and we can't keep turning our heads the other direction in hopes that things will just get better.
A little over a year ago, a young lady made a tough decision. Her life was full of complicated circumstances, emotional baggage, and terrible financial struggles. She was the mother of two children and found herself pregnant. Her life was full of reasons to choose the alternative to life but the life growing in her womb was a life of value and a life that God had great purpose with. The world's reasons of ending life far exceeded its list for preserving it; but thankfully she knew the value of life and chose to give the baby she carried a chance at life. She knew she couldn't give the child the life he/she would need due to her life circumstances, so she continued the path of selflessness and gave her child to a family who would love, nurture, and raise the child...
